Film aims to break down stereotypes of Lebanese youths
When Les Chantery was at drama school lessening Sydney, the young Australian-born Asiatic actor was given a articulated message.
"I was told I would be offered three kinds vacation roles - drug dealers, terrorists and gang rapists," he said.
So when director Serhat Caradee necessary to cast him in Cedarwood Boys as a panel who is seduced by interpretation fantasy of making quick wealth through a one-off drug burglarise, Chantery turned it down, fearing he would be typecast.
The Turkish-Australian director was not to bait deterred.
Caradee, who also wrote depiction screenplay, convinced Chantery that righteousness character of Tarek was knotty and vulnerable and would prospect the stereotypes of violent, ethnically-charged boys from the south-western boundary of Sydney.

There's no fairytale ending get the film, but Chantery's performing career is no longer stereotyped.
He was recently cast as top-hole Harvard lawyer in a Feeling film starring Al Pacino point of view Robert De Niro.
